Requirements to be selected under Express Entry System

  • Must be proficient in either English or French language (IELTS)
  • Should have a minimum of 15 years of education from recognized universities
  • Should have Work experience in the same domain.

Key Stages of Application Process

Candidates must submit their profile online through Express Entry

      The candidates are selected on the ranking basis as defined by the Federal skilled immigration into the Express Entry Pool. They will be assessed according to their skills based on a ranking system that looks at:
    • Language proficiency skills (IELTS)
    • Academic qualification
    • Work experience
    • Other factors that lead to success in Canada (e.g. provincial/territorial trade certificate)
    • Express Entry Profile
    • The profile in the pool once selected as per the requirements would receive an Invitation to Apply For Canada Permanent Resident (ITA)

Candidates invited to apply for Permanent Residence, need to produce bona fide documents to the immigration authorities within 60 days of receiving the invitation along with the application. There cannot be any inconsistencies with the information provided. Such applications with inconsistencies will be rejected and the applicants are further disqualified to apply for permanent resident status for a period of five years.

The below documents should be provided along with the application

  • Language Proficiency Test clearance certificate either in English or French.
  • Police Certificate.
  • Medical clearance from approved hospitals
  • Education credential assessment reports
  • Experience documents
  • Other miscellaneous documents

Federal Skilled Trades Program

The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is one of the pathways to obtain a permanent residence VISA to immigrate to Canada. Any individual who is skilled enough in trades listed by the Canadian Government can apply under this program. This program is not applicable to Quebec province. To qualify under this program, you need to have

Minimum Requirements:
  • Required proficiency in English or French
  • Have a minimum of two years of full-time work experience or an equal amount of part-time work experience in a skilled trade within the last five years
  • Meet all the job requirements for that skilled trade as set out in the National Occupational Classification (NOC), and
  • Have an offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least one year or a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a provincial or territorial body.
    Work Experience
  • Candidates could have either worked 2 years at a job for 30 hours every week or done part-time work for 15+ hours each week, the total of which amounts to 3,120 hours over 2 years.
  • Candidates possessing experience in one of the following occupations are accepted for this program
  • Industrial, electrical, and construction trades
  • Maintenance and equipment operation trades
  • Supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture, and related production
  • Processing, manufacturing, and utility supervisors and central control operators
  • Chefs and cooks
  • Butchers and bakers
Education Qualification
      Candidates under FSTP need not possess any degree from a university however, it would be preferable for you to have either a

 

  • a secondary school (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree obtained in Canada, or
  • An Education Credential Assessment (ECA) done
Language Ability
    Candidates must undergo an English or French language test and the candidates are expected to
  • Meet the minimum level benchmark of 5 for speaking and listening, and the minimum of benchmark 4 for reading and writing,
  • Provide original test outcomes from an approved language testing center.
  • Their profile must be part of the Express Entry Pool.
